Withdrawal is the forty-sixth issue of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Classic comic book series. It was written by Tom Fassbender with Jim Pascoe and illustrated by Paul Lee. It was originally published on June 26, 2002, by Dark Horse Comics.

Synopsis

Buffy's finally back in the game, fully recovered from her recent trip to heaven. But someone else is back, too — the sexy vamp D.J., Velatti. She's out for revenge, and she's noticed that Willow's powerful addiction to magic is growing out of control.^[1]

Continuity

• Buffy and Spike have a sexual encounter, which they had began in the episode "Smashed" and would eventually end in "As You Were."
• Buffy has her short haircut from "Gone."
• Velatti returns after being defeated in Creatures of Habit.
• Anya considers the place for her wedding ceremony, her third option being the actual place she would eventually book, the Bison Lodge ("Hell's Bells").
• Velatti joins forces with Hoopy, a creature whose backstory is revealed in the story Dawn and Hoopy the Bear.
• Tara isn't living in the Summers residence anymore, having moved out in "Tabula Rasa."
• Buffy mentions her working shifts in Doublemeat Palace, where she began to work in the episode "Doublemeat Palace."
